Located on the west coast of India in Gujarat, SDHI Pipavav Shipyard is a premier maritime facility offering shipbuilding, repairs/retrofits and offshore & heavy steel fabrication opportunities. Pipavav Shipyard is spread over approximately 600 acres and has historically delivered 18 vessels with the largest being Ice Class Panamax vessels of 74,500 DWT each.

Commercial Vessels

Since June 2012, Pipavav Shipyard has delivered eighteen vessels - eight Panamax bulk carriers (Ice Class 74500 DWT), seven Offshore Supply Vessels (OSVs), and three barges, successfully completing sea trials in the first attempt. Our deep understanding of the client ensures we deliver high-quality ships on time.
Defence vessels
SDHI Pipavav Shipyard is the first private shipyard licensed and contracted to construct warships by Ministry of Defence, India. The shipyard excels in building naval vessels using advanced welding processes and following stringent quality norms.
We have successfully designed, constructed and launched two Naval Offshore Patrol Vessels (NOPVs) and one Coast Guard Training Ship (CGTS). These projects display our robust production capabilities and high standards we maintain in systems and processes.
Heavy Fabrication
SDHI Pipavav Shipyard has expanded into heavy engineering, leveraging its extensive fabrication and load-out facilities to deliver superior heavy fabrication services. We are equipped to fabricate, assemble and erect a wide range of heavy engineering products with special emphasis on offshore and renewable sectors.
Historically, the shipyard has worked on the following projects:
Goliath Crane and Gantry Crane Parts: Fabrication of a 600T Goliath crane and Terex Noell 50T Rail Mounted Gantry Crane parts.
Ship to Shore Cranes: Fabrication, assembly, erection and load-out of Ship to Shore cranes.
Turbine and Generator Components: Production of turbine and generator components.
